Do people have to make appointments to come to this clinic?
Each patient will be seen based upon their arrival at the clinic. They may have to wait a while until the doctor can see them but if we check them in they will be seen by a doctor. The EARLIEST they can arrive is 6:00 PM.
Is anyone allowed to come to this clinic?
This clinic is set up to care for people who are NOT eligible to receive treatment under any governmental healthcare program such as Medicaid, Medicare, Disability Medical Assistance, etc. or for those who cannot afford private medical insurance. For legal reasons this clinic CANNOT see anyone who eligible for either of these insurances. This includes vision care and chiropractic care.
Below is chart listing 2009-2010 Poverty Guideline for the state of Ohio. Use the chart to determine whether an individual/family income is above or below the poverty level, which would make them eligible for government medical insurance.

Does the clinic see children under 18 years old?
We will see any child under 18 years old, so long as they are accompanied with an adult who is responsible for them.
What is required to have my medical records released to a third party?
The only way we will do this is if the patient shows up on the clinic night and signs a release form and picks up their records that night. We do not mail or fax these forms to anyone. (This applies to individuals, doctors office requests, lawyers, etc)
Does the clinic do physicals?
At this time we are only able to offer free physicals for those who need them for work related issues. We are NOT able to offer free physicals for sport activities at this time.
Do we offer lab work?
We do not offer any kind of lab work, injections, or x-rays.
Do we do ‘blood work’ for diabetics?
We can check blood sugar levels with an AcuCheck machine but we DO NOT do lab draws for A-1C.
What if someone requests a prescription to be refilled?
We do not do prescription refills. If they need a new prescription they will need to come to the clinic and see the doctor. We do not refill prescriptions for anti-depressants, since it involves frequent reappraisals of the medicine to get right dosages and should be handled by professional psychiatrist.
How many times can a person come to this clinic?
Our clinic is equipped to care ONLY for immediate, yet non-emergency needs. We ARE NOT able to provide ongoing medical care. We are not outfitted to become a primary care physician or family doctor. If someone should need such care, we would be more than happy to provide information on other Health Centers that provide more extensive Medical Care on a sliding scale fee basis. The Medical Clinic cannot see any patients more than TWO times.
What is the mission of the Free Medical Clinic?
The mission of the Vineyard Free Medical Clinic is to share the love of Jesus Christ in a practical and meaningful way. We provide free medical care to patients that do not have the ability to pay. Every person will be treated with the utmost love and respect and will be offered an opportunity for prayer. The Vineyard Free Medical Clinic offers these services from a Biblical perspective, and in an atmosphere which is always Christ honoring. This is a Church-based program and all of the staff are volunteers, and we ask that you be respectful of their time. We will try our best to make your time with us as pleasant as possible.
Do we offer testing or ongoing care for STD’s and AIDS?
We do not offer STD check-ups, as that would require lab work and at this time we do not have the ability for lab work at our medical clinic. There is a Sexual Health Clinic (AIDS/HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases) located at five different sites in the Columbus area. This clinic can provide you with information, confidential diagnosis & treatment for STD’s, and referrals to other community resources. They do accept some insurances. There are fees for non-insured clients and it is based on a sliding fee scale. No one is turned away because they cannot pay. ID is required and there is no appointment necessary.
