Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a full-time minister on staff at a church?  Have you felt a call to give your life to full-time ministry at a church? At Vineyard Community Church, we have developed an intern program to give individuals an opportunity to explore these possibilities.

The purpose of the intern program is to give each intern a well-rounded understanding of church ministry; as well as, an opportunity to serve people in the church environment. This is a volunteer position that requires a commitment of 8-10 hours per week.

What are the qualifications?

Before a person can qualify for this intern program they must be a member of Vineyard Community Church and at least sixteen years old. They also need to have served in a leadership position in any department for at least six months. They need to have taken the small group leaders training or be in the process of taking this training. Vineyard Community Church also has a leadership covenant that interns must sign.

What does the program consist of?

Each intern will spend 3-6 hours per week working at the church.

Each intern will spend 2-3 months with a different department on a rotation basis.  He/she will help in that department with whatever project that needs to be completed. Vineyard Community Church will provide an office for use.

Typical projects he/she would assist with are: Big day planning, Youth Thursday services, snack bar, media, control room, Children’s Sunday School, special events, Upward Soccer, maintenance or clerical.

Upon Successful Completion

The entire training program lasts one year.  Once it is completed, he/she will be recognized before the church on Sunday and be awarded a certificate of completion. Each intern will be given a letter of recommendation that can be used for job applications for church ministry positions.
